Interested in Med. School? Check This Out!

Getting into medical school is notoriously difficult. The grades you need, the MCAT scores you need, the application process ... all of it can be overwhelming. Which means, of course, that every incoming medical school class is the elite of the elite.

MSNBC ran an interesting article about a new medical school that only has -- wait for it -- eight students in its first class. Located in Kansas, the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Salina "has been designed to address the critical shortage of rural physicians in the state." The program, targeted specifically for students in Kansas, is "ideal" for students "who are self-motivated, independent learners who would enjoy working with a small group of peers for the duration of medical school, and who have a strong desire to practice primary care medicine in rural Kansas."
